Board-certified adult psychiatrist based in Alexandria, Virginia
About me:
Welcome to my page; I’m Dr. Jenny Yung. I am a general adult psychiatrist with many years’ experience working in the Northern Virginia area. I am originally from New York City, where the exposure to the vast array of humanity and cultures nurtured my interest in learning people’s stories, appreciating differences in the way we think, and investigating the fine line between disorders versus the range of “normal” human behavior.
I am interested in treatment of mood, anxiety, and psychotic spectrum disorders, but given how often conditions overlap and how different symptoms arise throughout our lifespan, I am comfortable treating a range of mental health problems. I take a non-judgmental, evidence-based and collaborative approach with the goal of improving your health and awareness of who you are. My primary therapeutic approaches are psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and if needed, psychopharmacological.
Outside of medications and therapy I believe strongly that healthy lifestyle habits are essential to emotional well-being.
